Any High-Carbon Alloys Typically Found in Leading Manufacturer’s Firearm Frames and Barrels. Many of Which are Referred to as Stainless, but Not Technically Stainless Steel.
GUNSMITH’S SPECIAL™ Produces Golds, Grays, Blues, Blue/Violets & Bluish/Black AND Even Blue Gradients on Bare, Polished (Bright) Chrome/Vanadium, Chrome/Molybdenum, as Well as Stainless Steels, Mild Steel (Low-Carbon Steel), High-Carbon Steels and Tool Steel Alloys.
No Heating of the Metal or the Patina Liquid is Required with this Product or ANY of the
Drizzle, Drip, Brush, Dab or Spray (Spritz), on Bare, Polished or at Least Very Clean the Base Metal for Very Unique, Vivid, Multi-Colored Patinas and Effects. (Spritzing or Dabbing with a Small Piece of Natural Sea-Sponge, is my Preferred Method). I also use my fingertip. Product is skin-safe.

The GUNSMITH’S SPECIAL™ Kit Includes 1 Each of ‘Surface Activator’ & GUNSMITH’S SPECIAL™ Patina of Equal Sizes.
DO NOT MIX The 2 Liquids Together in the Same Container. Mixing Won’t Hurt Anything, but it will Render the Patina Almost Completely Ineffective. It Is IMPERATIVE That the Surface Activator Be Applied to the Surface/s of the Alloy Prior to the Application of the STAINLESS F/X™ Patina and LEFT WET (Leave it on!), while applying the GUNSMITH’S SPECIAL™ Case-Hardening Patina Liquid.
Coverage is Approximately 20-25 SQUARE FEET PER 16 OZ. KIT. This Patina Kit Will ALSO Work Beautifully on Mild Steel, (Low-Carbon Steel), With the Exact Color Reactions Achieved on Proprietary Alloys. When Using on Mild Steel, a Clear-Coat, Wax or Sealer is Mandatory, Or It Will Eventually begin to rust. Pro Tip: I do not like or recommend gun-oil of any kind as a sealer.
Spray Small (Short, Spritzing Spurts That Emit Droplets Work Best), or Apply w/ Eye-Dropper, Disposable Pipette, Sea-Sponge, Clean Rag, Etc. Rinse or Wipe Off Thoroughly & Dry with Clean, Dry Compressed Air. Done!
