(VCI) VOLATILE CORROSION INHIBITOR  STORAGE GUIDELINES:

The Manufacturer recommends storing this paper in it’s original packaging until needed, then re-sealing the plastic sleeve that we ship it in. Paper should be stored in its original packaging, undisturbed, until the time at which it is going to be used.

Optimal storage conditions for unopened VCI product is a cool, dry indoor environment, free of substantial airflow (i.e. drafts) and shielded from direct sunlight. Product should be rotated to ensure that older inventory is used first.

Opened product, which is going to be put back into storage, should be stretch wrapped to prevent the escape of VCI during storage and handled as described above.

These are optimal handling and storage conditions and we understand that this is not always possible. In sub-optimum conditions (i.e. hot, humid warehousing, etc.), for unopened material we recommend the disposal of the top one to two sheets, before using fresh sheets below.

Place on Dry Steel with PRINT SIDE UP, PLAIN SIDE TOUCHING THE STEEL THAT YOU WANT TO PROTECT!

Steel should be clean and free of fingerprints before wrapping.

Place paper on your clean, polished steel as quickly as possible, making sure it’s dry.

The unprinted side of Daubert Cromwell paper should face the metal.

The steel part should be no more than 12″ from the VCI paper. The closer to the surface being protected, the better the corrosion protection.

As a general rule, use 1 sq. ft. of VCI for every 1-3 sq. ft. of steel surface. 

Store unused VCI Sheets in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Shade variations in the color of VCI paper are inherent and do not affect the length, quality or effectiveness of the corrosion protection.

Your VCI Protected Steel May be Stored Vertical, Slanted or Horizontal, Preferably Indoors.
