Bill Says, “If You Can Finger-Paint, You Can Use These Alcohol Inks!”.
You Can Create Effects on Any Metal That Has Been Nearly Impossible To Do… Until Now!
ALCOHOL INKS work great on Steel or any metal, including Aluminum or Stainless. Translucent, Vibrant Colors in any color imaginable by combining 2 or more of the Alcohol Inks Together. The color possibilities are endless. Apply on clean, dry metal or over the Lighter-Colored Patinas for a incredibly unique look.
Easy to apply by brush, sponge, rag or airbrush or over a stencil. Slower Drying Than the Metal Dyes & compatible with any clear coat. Colors can be combined, thinned with the Blending Solution, which is Isopropanol 99.5% Lab Grade. Colors can be darkened (shaded) with the Onyx Black, which is Translucent. Contains No Acids or Acetone.
May be used in conjunction with the Metal Dyes, but only in the application process after one or the other has been applied, but you shouldn’t mix the STEEL F/X® Metal Dyes & The Alcohol Inks Together in the Same Container. Approx.
Dry Time is 20-30 minutes for the Alcohol Inks and only a 5-30 Seconds for the Metal Dyes.
These Alcohol Inks will work equally well on ANY Non-Porous Surface. Adding the Inks on top of your patinas will produce gorgeous effects including color, depth, shadows & shading.
These Alcohol Inks Can be Clear-Coated with any Clear you prefer, including Clear Powder-Coat.
Very Easy to Apply & the Results are Beyond Spectacular! ~
GEL & STAINS – ART ON METAL
On the Photo Above, I used a technique called repousse’, which is hammering in some texture on the back of the metal, which was easy, as I was using 26awg. Galvanized Sheet Metal, formed into a rectangular “pan”, with 1-1/2″ Sides. I used a plastic shaping hammer, the head made from HDPE & shaped like a teardrop. I Used a Sand-Filled Leather Pounding Bag, which “gives” as the hammering is done. Only took a few minutes to give the surface some depth & character.
Thanks, Bill 😎
