METAL DYES VS. METAL STAINS

The Color-Wash™ Stains (Alcohol Inks) are Very Slow Drying Compared to the Dyes. They Give You More Working Time if You’re Blending, Streaking, Merging Colors on the Steel or Any Other Non-porous Surface. In the Photo Below,

I’ve Spread a 1/8″ (approx.) Layer of Ultra Clear Polymer Gel, Dropped a Few drops of Different Colored Stains, (Not Dyes), Onto the Surface, Then Dragged a Toothpick Through the Spots to Create the Swirls.   No Rinsing Required.   Then, Overnight…the Colored Gel Hardens To a Glossy, Plastic Finish, Approximately 3/32″ Thick.   In This Stage it is Done, but Needs to be clear-coated, as Water will Re-activate the Gel & Make it Sticky.
