NOTICE RE: GEL PATINAS
During extended periods of storage or in cold weather, the gels can become too stiff to use effectively. Temps <32°F will cause
the gels to become very stiff. If I add approved ‘anti-freeze’ additives, the anti-freeze negatively affects the efficacy of the Gel Patinas.
The Gel Patinas can be restored to original viscosity by placing in a microwave for 5-10s, carefully removing from the microwave,
gently stirring and repeat a few times, only if needed.
The process is safe, but you may want to pick up a small, used microwave, that is not intended for use with foodstuffs.
There are no fumes, smells or off-gassing to worry about. A ‘Double-Boiler’ will work well, too…but it takes a lot longer.
Loosen cap and rest on jar top before microwaving.
Careful! The Gels Get VERY HOT!!
Let stand til gel reaches room temperature, then they’re fine to use. Store Gel Patinas tightly capped, and in a place that doesn’t get too cold.
The Effective Shelf-Life of the Gel Patinas is 4-6 Months from Date of Purchase, Dependent on Climate and Your Particular Storage Conditions.
