I love this product. I generally use a small amount on clean metal. Paint lightly over that and then spray heavier with Rust FX. It gives me a beautiful lightly rusted patina on newly painted objects. I don’t know why I can only give two stars? It is definitely a 12 star product and Bill’s feedback and guidance is invaluable.

What a wonderful product! It produces endless possibilities according to how you apply it, time on surface, number of applications, temperature, etc. Beyond just a red rust color, it can produce shades of black, brown, greens, grays, etc. Play around with it and discover something new!
